Cutright commits to SIUE

(MATTOON) Conner Cutright, junior at Casey Westfield High School and a player for the Premier Fastpitch Softball 18U Gold has verbally committed to Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Cutright plays summer ball Coaches Kristi and Dan Paulson. The Premier Fastpitch 16U Black finished seventh at the ASA 16U Gold Nationals in Oklahoma and placed fifth at the Triple Crown Sports Fireworks Tournament in Colorado this past summer.

Cutright is a centerfielder and left-handed hitter for father Mike Cutright at Casey Westfield High School. The Warriors were 19-12 in 2014. Cutright hit .486 and had 10 homeruns, six triples and 14 doubles last season for the Warriors.

As a sophomore, she was named All Conference First Team in both basketball and softball, Decatur-Herald All Area First Team - Outfield. In her freshman year, Cutright received All Conference Honorable Mention in basketball, All Conference First Team in softball and Decatur-Herald All Area First Team - Outfield. Cutright earned varsity letters in two sports (basketball, softball) as a freshman and sophomore. She was a member of the 2011 Class A State Softball Champions in eighth grade.

The Cougars won its first Ohio Valley Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division I Championship with a 19-5 mark in conference play and a 30-23 overall record in 2014. SIUE softball received 18 first-place votes and has been selected to repeat as the champions of the Ohio Valley Conference for the 2015 season.

Cutright is an honors student and the daughter of Stephanie and Mike Cutright.
