Chappelle verbally commits to Saint Louis University

MATTOON – Kaylea Chappelle, senior at Carmi-White County High School and a player for the Premier Fastpitch Softball 18U Gold has verbally committed to Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO. Chappelle plays for Coaches Kristi and Dan Paulson during the travel ball season. Premier Fastpitch 18U Gold were the 2015 ASA 18U A Illinois State Champions and rode to a strong 17th place finish at the 104 Team ASA/USA 18U A Nationals in Spartanburg, SC this past summer.
Her honors during her junior year include: 2015 Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South Team; Illinois Coaches Association All-State Second Team; Black Diamond Conference – East MVP; First Team Black Diamond Conference - East.
Chappelle was 21-5 in the circle for the Lady Bulldogs, striking out 216 with an ERA of 1.60. At the plate, she hit .538 with eight homeruns, 11 doubles and 41 RBI. She is coached by Scott Conner at Carmi-White County High School.
Chappelle will graduate in 2016.
Saint Louis University, a NCAA DI school, posted a 36-18 overall record and was 18-5 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Billikens are coached by Christy Connoyer who is in her sixth season at the helm.
Chappelle is an honors student and a member of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Darla and Rick Chappelle.
