Premier Fastpitch 16s at Midland Magic Fall Showcase 2013

SPRINGFIELD -- The Premier Fastpitch 16U Orange and Black teams recently competed at the 2013 Midland Magic Fall Showcase in Springfield, IL. 


The Orange Team went 3-2 and the Black Team was 5-0. 

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U tops Midland Magic 97 in back-and-forth affair, 6-5 

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U and Midland Magic 97 volleyed the lead five times on Saturday, but Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U came out on top for a 6-5 win on Saturday at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, Illinois. 

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. A walk byKatherine Kennedy scored Mariah Clark and gave Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U the lead for good. 

The bottom of the first saw Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U take an early lead, 1-0. 

Midland Magic 97 tied the game in the fourth on a sacrifice fly. 

Haley Ginger helps Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U down Extreme Elite Swip 4-0

Haley Ginger drove in three runs, helping Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U to a 4-0 victory over Extreme Elite Swip on Sunday at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, Illinois. 

She tripled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning. 

Sophie Catlin put together a nice outing. Extreme Elite Swip managed just one hit off of Catlin, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during her 4 1/3 innings of work. 

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U never trailed after scoring two runs in the third on an RBI single by Sophie and an RBI triple by Haley. 

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U down the BNGSA Angels JV 4-1

Haley Ginger went 3-3 at the plate, sparking Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U to a 4-1 victory in seven innings over the BNGSA Angels JV on Sunday at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, Illinois. 

She singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings. 

The BNGSA Angels JV couldn't get anything going as long as Sophie Catlin was on the mound. Sophie held the BNGSA Angels JV hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four. 

The first inning saw the BNGSA Angels JV score their only run on the day on an RBI double by Buob. 

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U answered the BNGSA Angels JV's top inning with one run of its own in the first. Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U scored on an RBI single by Haley. 

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the fourth inning when it scored on a passed ball. 

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U drubs Exteme Elite McClelland, 9-0

Exteme Elite McClelland didn't put up much of a fight on Sunday, as Premier Fastpitch Black 16U cruised to a blowout 9-0 win in five innings at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, IL. 

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored three runs in the fifth on a two-run single by Kaylea Chappelle and a wild pitch. 

It was a good day at the plate for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's Brenna Finck. Brenna went 2-2, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the third and fourth innings. 

Exteme Elite McClelland couldn't get anything going as long as Baylee Sparks was pitching. Exteme Elite McClelland managed just one hit off of the Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during her two innings of work. 

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring one run on an RBI single by Kyleigh Decker

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U brought home three runs in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the fourth, Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored on an RBI single by Darian Morgan, plating Cheyenne Thompson

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U pitchers team up for no-hitter in 17-0 victory over TN Red

Two pitchers joined forces to throw a no-hitter for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U in a 17-0 victory in five innings over TN Red on Saturday at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, IL. Lexie Black andBaylee Sparks teamed up to stifle TN Red, striking out three while walking one. 

Lexie looked sharp on the mound. Lexie held TN Red hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one. 

The biggest inning for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U was the second. In the inning Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored nine runs. 

Allison Apke racked up three RBIs on three hits for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning. 

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U easily handled TN Red pitching as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored. 

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U added two more runs in the top of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Conner Cutright singled, bringing home Kyleigh Decker. That was followed up by Allison's single, plating Walsh. 

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U increased its lead with five runs in the fifth. Allison doubled, scoring Kadi Borries to start the inning. That was followed up by Kaylea Chappelle's single, plating Conner. 


Early boost from Anni Borries helps Premier Fastpitch Black 16U get past Midland Magic 98, 9-5


Five first-inning runs helped Premier Fastpitch Black 16U to a 9-5 win over Midland Magic 98 at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, IL on Saturday. 

Kadi Borries went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning. 

Kaylea Chappelle got the win for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She pitched two shutout innings. Kaylea struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit. 

The top of the first saw Midland Magic 98 take an early lead, 2-0. A single by #13, bringing home #2 started the inning off. The scoreboard lit up again for Midland Magic 98 when scored on a passed ball. 

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Kadi homered, scoring Kyleigh Decker

A three-run fifth inning helped bring Midland Magic 98 within four. An RBI single by #4, an RBI single by #7, and an error gave Midland Magic 98 life. The game went final when #15

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U makes the most of 8 hits in 7-2 victory over Hitting Center 97

Both Premier Fastpitch Black 16U and Hitting Center 97 put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was Premier Fastpitch Black 16U that was able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-2 win at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, IL. 

Hitting Center 97 had 10 hits compared with Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's eight, but Hitting Center 97 stranded seven runners on base. 

Kadi Borries racked up three RBIs on one hit for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She doubled in the fourth inning. 

Lexie Black got the win for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She allowed one run over three innings. She struck out two, walked none and surrendered four hits. 

The game's last lead went to Premier Fastpitch Black 16U thanks to a first inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an error and two singles. 

One run in the top of the second helped Hitting Center 97 close its deficit to 3-1. An RBI single by #40triggered Hitting Center 97's comeback. #14 to end the Hitting Center 97 threat. 

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U increased its lead with four runs in the fourth. A double by Kadi ignited the offense,, plating Lexie, Baylee Sparks and Walsh. That was followed up by Conner Cutright's single, plating Kadi.
