PF wins 16U & 18U Winter Blues Tournaments

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U top Hitting Center behind Mycaela Miller's 3 hits, 10-3

An outstanding effort by Mycaela Miller led Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U to a 10-3 victory and the championship in five innings over Hitting Center at Winter Blues 16U Tournament. On Feb. 9, 2014

Mycaela rocked Hitting Center with two home runs. Mycaela went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Mycaela homered in the second and third innings.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U blew out Hitting Center thanks to 13 hits, including five extra base hits.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with four lead changes.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U took the lead in the third inning and held on for the victory. Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U scored on a three-run home run by Mycaela off Whitney, scoring Sophie Catlin and Jenna Woltman.

Ally Wiegand recorded the win for Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U. She allowed three runs over five innings. She struck out eight, walked none and surrendered six hits.

Additional home runs for Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U came when Sophie homered in the second inning, Mycaela homered in the second and third innings, and Jenna homered in the fifth inning.

The top of the second saw Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U take an early lead, 2-0. A solo blast by Sophie started the inning off. Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U then tacked on more runs when scored on a solo home run by Mycaela.

Hitting Center survived Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U's surge and put up three runs of its own in the second. Hitting Center scored on a two-run double by Burton and an RBI single by Talley.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U drubs Hitting Center, 6-0

Hitting Center didn't stand a chance on Sunday, as Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U captured a blowout 6-0 win in seven innings at Winter Blues, Pekin, IL.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U scored two runs in the third on a steal of home by Haley Ginger and an RBI double by Ally Wiegand.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U was led by Haley's hitting. Haley went 2-3 and scored three runs. She doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Hitting Center couldn't get anything going as long as Ally was pitching. Ally held Hitting Center hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U went up for good in the first, scoring one run on an RBI single by Sophie Catlin.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U scored one run in each of the second, fourth and sixth. In the second, Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U scored on a passed ball, scoring Haley.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U jumps on Diamond Softball Academy early and coasts to 11-1 win

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Diamond Softball Academy, recording an 11-1 victory on Saturday at Winter Blues, Pekin, IL.

The game was decided quickly as Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U exerted its will early with five runs in the first three innings.

A steal of home by Anna Watson in the first inning and an RBI double by Amber Tabeling during the second inning supplied the early offense for Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U.

Anna did her best to jumpstart the offense for Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U, reaching base three times. She singled in the second and fifth innings.

Ally Wiegand got the win for Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U thanks to 10 strikeouts. Ally allowed no earned runs, two hits and no walks over 4 2/3 innings.

Post took the loss for Diamond Softball Academy. She lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed no runs.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U brought home three runs in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the fourth, Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U scored on an RBI double by Jenna Woltman, scoring Madalyn Cooper.

2 Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U pitchers team up for no-hitter in 4-0 victory over Elk Grove Heat


Two pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter for Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U in a 4-0 victory in six innings over Elk Grove Heat on Saturday at Winter Blues, Pekin, IL.

Leah Allison and Ally Wiegand tallied 11 strikeouts and walked one in completing the no-no.
Elk Grove Heat couldn't get anything going as long as Ally was on the mound. Ally held Elk Grove Heat hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out 10.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U went up for good in the first, scoring one run on an RBI single by Jenna Woltman.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U tacked on another two runs in the sixth. A single by Katherine Kennedy ignited the offense,, scoring Sophie Catlin.

Allison Apke helps Premier Fastpitch Black 16U down Blue Devils 3-0

Allison Apke went 1-2 and hit a home run as Premier Fastpitch Black 16U took home a 3-0 victory over Blue Devils in seven innings at Pekin, IL on Sunday to capture the Winter Blues 18U Tournament at the Avanti Dome.

She homered in the third inning.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's Baylee Sparks kept Blue Devils off the scoreboard for all seven innings she was on the hill. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out none.

The lead stayed with Premier Fastpitch Black 16U after the third, when it scored three runs on an RBI double by Conner Cutright and a two-run home run by Allison.

Kadi Borries leads Premier Fastpitch Black 16U to 4-0 victory thanks to 10 strikeouts

An exceptional effort by Kadi Borries spurred Premier Fastpitch Black 16U to a 4-0 win in seven innings over Midland Magic 98 on Sunday at Pekin, IL.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U got the win thanks in large part to Kadi's dominant, 10-strikeout performance. Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.

Bailey Martin paced Premier Fastpitch Black 16U at the plate. Bailey went 1-4, drove in one and scored two runs. She homered in the first inning.

#37 ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.

The game was never in doubt after the first, as Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored one run on a solo home run by Martin.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U added three more runs in the bottom of the second. The inning got off to a hot start when Conner Cutright doubled, scoring Lexie Black and Baylee Sparks.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U pounded Midland Magic 98 on Saturday 10-2 at Pekin Dome in six innings.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored three runs in the sixth on a solo home run by Allison Apke, a passed ball, and an error.

Allison racked up three RBIs on three hits for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U.

Baylee Sparks got the win for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U thanks to six strikeouts. Baylee allowed two earned runs, four hits and no walks over six innings.

Graham couldn't get it done in the circle for Midland Magic 98, taking a loss. She lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out five, and allowed five runs.

The top of the first saw Premier Fastpitch Black 16U take an early lead, 2-0. Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's rally started when Bailey Martin singled. A stolen base then moved Bailey from first to second. Allison doubled, bringing home Bailey. Premier Fastpitch Black 16U then tacked on more runs when Apke scored on an RBI double by Anni Borries.

The game was never in doubt after the third, as Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored three runs on an RBI double by Baylee and a passed ball.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U got one-run rallies in the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored on an RBI single by Allison.

Premier Fastpitch Teams Win at February Classic, Pekin, IL






Premier Orange wins 16U Division at the February Classic


The PF Orange team went 4-0 on the weekend with a 4-2 victory over Tinley Park Rockers on Friday and a 9-6 win over the Diamond Storm on Saturday. After a win in the semi-finals, PF Orange defeated the Hitting Center in the Championship contest for the tournament win.


In the Diamond Storm game, Ally Wiegand looked sharp on the mound. Diamond Storm 16u managed just two hits off of Wiegand, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out seven during her four innings of work.

The lead stayed with Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U after the first, when it scored one run on a single.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U scored six runs in the third, keyed by a three-run blast off the bat of Sophie Catlin.

Five runs in the bottom of the third helped Diamond Storm 16u close its deficit to 7-5. An RBI single by Stoller and a home run by McCrory fueled Diamond Storm 16u's comeback. But, Ally got Rogers to fly out to end the inning.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U increased its lead with two runs in the fourth. Mycaela Miller kicked things off with a single, plating Amber Tabeling. That was followed up by A Apke's double, scoring Mycaela.

After pushing across one run in the bottom of the fourth, Diamond Storm 16u faced just a 9-6 deficit. A solo home run by LeChaller set off Diamond Storm 16u rally. Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U stopped the rally after Ally got Noos to strike out.





Premier Fastpitch Black 16U take out Illinois Force with help from Lexie Black, 6-1


Lexie Black went 2-3, sparking Premier Fastpitch Black 16U to a 6-1 victory in six innings over Illinois Force in the 18U February Classic at the Avanti Dome in Pekin on Sunday. She singled in the third and fifth innings.

Illinois Force couldn't get anything going as long as Kaylea Chappelle was on the mound. Illinois Force managed just two hits off of the Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out three during her six innings of work.

Illinois Force scored its only run of the game on an RBI double by #9 in the first inning.

The lead stayed with Premier Fastpitch Black 16U after the third, when it scored three runs on an RBI single by Lexie.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U added three more runs in the top of the fifth. Lexie singled, scoring Allison Apke to start the inning.

Early lead gives Premier Fastpitch Black 16U easy victory over Miami Stingray, 9-0

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U shut the door early on Miami Stingray, capturing a 9-0 victory on Friday at Fort Lauderdale, FL.

With five runs in the first three innings, Premier Fastpitch Black 16U left no doubt about the eventual outcome. An RBI single by Brenna Finck and a walk by Bailey Martin during the second inning supplied the early offense for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U hit three home runs in the win. Home runs for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U came when Kadi Borries homered in the third inning, Kaylea Chappelle homered in the fourth inning, and Allison Apke homered in the fourth inning.

Kadi racked up three RBIs on two hits for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She singled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.

Baylee Sparks got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She tossed four innings of shutout ball. Baylee struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Premier Fastpitch 16s at Midland Magic Fall Showcase 2013

SPRINGFIELD -- The Premier Fastpitch 16U Orange and Black teams recently competed at the 2013 Midland Magic Fall Showcase in Springfield, IL.

The Orange Team went 3-2 and the Black Team was 5-0.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U tops Midland Magic 97 in back-and-forth affair, 6-5

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U and Midland Magic 97 volleyed the lead five times on Saturday, but Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U came out on top for a 6-5 win on Saturday at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, Illinois.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. A walk by Katherine Kennedy scored Mariah Clark and gave Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U the lead for good.

The bottom of the first saw Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U take an early lead, 1-0.

Midland Magic 97 tied the game in the fourth on a sacrifice fly.

Haley Ginger helps Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U down Extreme Elite Swip 4-0

Haley Ginger drove in three runs, helping Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U to a 4-0 victory over Extreme Elite Swip on Sunday at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, Illinois.

She tripled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Sophie Catlin put together a nice outing. Extreme Elite Swip managed just one hit off of Catlin, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during her 4 1/3 innings of work.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U never trailed after scoring two runs in the third on an RBI single by Sophie and an RBI triple by Haley.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U down the BNGSA Angels JV 4-1

Haley Ginger went 3-3 at the plate, sparking Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U to a 4-1 victory in seven innings over the BNGSA Angels JV on Sunday at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, Illinois.

She singled in the first, fourth, and sixth innings.

The BNGSA Angels JV couldn't get anything going as long as Sophie Catlin was on the mound. Sophie held the BNGSA Angels JV hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

The first inning saw the BNGSA Angels JV score their only run on the day on an RBI double by Buob.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U answered the BNGSA Angels JV's top inning with one run of its own in the first. Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U scored on an RBI single by Haley.

Premier Fastpitch Orange 16U didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the fourth inning when it scored on a passed ball.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U drubs Exteme Elite McClelland, 9-0

Exteme Elite McClelland didn't put up much of a fight on Sunday, as Premier Fastpitch Black 16U cruised to a blowout 9-0 win in five innings at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, IL.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored three runs in the fifth on a two-run single by Kaylea Chappelle and a wild pitch.

It was a good day at the plate for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's Brenna Finck. Brenna went 2-2, drove in one and scored two runs. She singled in the third and fourth innings.

Exteme Elite McClelland couldn't get anything going as long as Baylee Sparks was pitching. Exteme Elite McClelland managed just one hit off of the Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during her two innings of work.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the second, scoring one run on an RBI single by Kyleigh Decker.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U brought home three runs in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the fifth. In the fourth, Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored on an RBI single by Darian Morgan, plating Cheyenne Thompson.

Two pitchers joined forces to throw a no-hitter for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U in a 17-0 victory in five innings over TN Red on Saturday at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, IL. Lexie Black and Baylee Sparks teamed up to stifle TN Red, striking out three while walking one.

Lexie looked sharp on the mound. Lexie held TN Red hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

The biggest inning for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U was the second. In the inning Premier Fastpitch Black 16U scored nine runs.

Allison Apke racked up three RBIs on three hits for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U easily handled TN Red pitching as seven hitters combined for 16 hits, 14 RBIs and 12 runs scored.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U added two more runs in the top of the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Conner Cutright singled, bringing home Kyleigh Decker. That was followed up by Allison's single, plating Walsh.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U increased its lead with five runs in the fifth. Allison doubled, scoring Kadi Borries to start the inning. That was followed up by Kaylea Chappelle's single, plating Conner.

Five first-inning runs helped Premier Fastpitch Black 16U to a 9-5 win over Midland Magic 98 at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, IL on Saturday.

Kadi Borries went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She singled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Kaylea Chappelle got the win for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She pitched two shutout innings. Kaylea struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

The top of the first saw Midland Magic 98 take an early lead, 2-0. A single by #13, bringing home #2 started the inning off. The scoreboard lit up again for Midland Magic 98 when scored on a passed ball.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Kadi homered, scoring Kyleigh Decker.

A three-run fifth inning helped bring Midland Magic 98 within four. An RBI single by #4, an RBI single by #7, and an error gave Midland Magic 98 life. The game went final when #15.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U makes the most of 8 hits in 7-2 victory over Hitting Center 97

Both Premier Fastpitch Black 16U and Hitting Center 97 put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was Premier Fastpitch Black 16U that was able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-2 win at Midland Magic Fall Showcase, UIS, Springfield, IL.

Hitting Center 97 had 10 hits compared with Premier Fastpitch Black 16U's eight, but Hitting Center 97 stranded seven runners on base.

Kadi Borries racked up three RBIs on one hit for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She doubled in the fourth inning.

Lexie Black got the win for Premier Fastpitch Black 16U. She allowed one run over three innings. She struck out two, walked none and surrendered four hits.

The game's last lead went to Premier Fastpitch Black 16U thanks to a first inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on an error and two singles.

One run in the top of the second helped Hitting Center 97 close its deficit to 3-1. An RBI single by #40 triggered Hitting Center 97's comeback. #14 to end the Hitting Center 97 threat.

Premier Fastpitch Black 16U increased its lead with four runs in the fourth. A double by Kadi ignited the offense,, plating Lexie, Baylee Sparks and Walsh. That was followed up by Conner Cutright's single, plating Kadi.

Directions- 4 miles west of Mattoon on Route 16.
Turn south on the 4th road out of Mattoon or the 2nd road west of Rogala Golf Course. After turning south it is ¼ mile down that road.
Purpose: To provide qualified instruction in basic fundamentals of pitching. Areas of instruction will include techniques and drills for beginning, intermediate and advanced pitchers.
What to Please wear Tennis Shoes or Turf Shoes. No Cleats allowed on the Turf.
Wear/ Bring: Bring Glove.
