PF 16U Gold wins ASA State!

PEKIN – Premier Fastpitch 16U Gold won the ASA A Illinois State Tournament in Pekin over the past weekend. Premier was a perfect 5-0 at the tournament. Premier is to travel to play the top teams in the Illinois/Indiana area at the LIDS Grand Park Showcase in Westfield, IN this weekend.

PF 16U Gold 6, Princeville Phlash 0

Premier scored in the first on an RBI single by Jenna Woltman, an RBI single by Ally Wiegand, a two-run single by Eryn Gould, an RBI double by Makayla Reedy, and an RBI single by Baleigh Koester. Anna Watson was 2-for-2.

Alexis Estes got the win for Premier Fastpitch Gold 16U. She struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

PF 16U Gold 12, East Peoria Express 0

With five runs in the first three innings, Premier left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Woltman and an RBI single by Morgan Davis during the first inning and a walk by Mycaela Miller and a two-run single by Davis in the second inning helped Premier put some runs on the board early.

Davis racked up five RBIs on four hits Miller had four RBIs for Premier while Calla Wickenhauser was 2-for-2 with two doubles.

Koester put together a nice outing. The Express managed just one hit off of the Premier pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during her three innings of work.

PF 16U Gold 5, Illinois Force 1

Davis went 2-2 and hit a home run, helping Premier to a 5-1 victory over Illinois Force on Sunday.

She singled in the first inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Wiegand was a workhorse in the circle while bagging the win for Premier. Wiegand allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings of work.

PF 16U Gold 7, BNGSA JV Angels 4

Wiegand rocked the Angels with two home runs. Wiegand went 3-3 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Wiegand homered in the third and sixth innings. Estes had two doubles.

Koester got it done in the circle on the way to a win. She allowed two runs over five innings. Koester struck out four, walked one and gave up seven hits. Leah Allison pitched an inning gave up two hits, walked one and no earned runs.

In the second, Premier scored on a passed ball, scoring Regan Gremaud and Estes.

PF 16U Gold 10, Heartland Havoc

With the score tied at five, Davis came to the plate and hit a grand slam, scoring Miller, Woltman and Watson.

Davis racked up four RBIs on two hits for Premier.

Wiegand recorded the win for Premier. She pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings. Wiegand struck out two, walked none and gave up four hits.

The lead was Premier’s to lose after sixth inning. More runs came home on a three-run home run by Gould.

Sara Bradley and Denise Prather are the coaches of the Premier Fastpitch 16U Gold. Premier Fastpitch began as one team in the fall of 2011. The organization now fields two 18U teams, a 16U and two 14U. The PF 18U Gold players are from Carterville, Clinton, Downs, Effingham, Mt. Carmel, Mt. Zion, Monticello, Maroa, Hammond, and Tuscola.
