Ginger commits to Parkland College

(MATTOON) Haley Ginger, senior at Clinton Community High School and a player for the Premier Fastpitch Softball 16U Orange has verbally committed to Parkland College in Champaign, IL.

Ginger is a shortstop and as a junior earned First Team All-Conference and Champaign News-Gazette All-Area Second Team honors. She also set school records in Most Triples in a Season, Most Hits in a Season, Most Runs Scored in a Season. Ginger also obtained all conferences honors in basketball and special mention all-state.

Ginger’s high school team, the Lady Maroons won a regional championship in IHSA Class 2A in 2013. She is coached in high school by Emily Starkey and will graduate in 2015.

Ginger plays summer ball for Coach Denise Prather. The Premier Fastpitch 16U Orange qualified for ASA 16U Gold Nationals in Oklahoma and placed in the top eight at the Triple Crown Sports Sparkler Tournament in Colorado this year.

She is the daughter of Kelly and Mike Ginger.
