Belt verbals to Parkland

MATTOON – Brigette Belt, senior at Casey-Westfield High School and a player for the Premier Fastpitch Softball 18U Gold has verbally committed to Parkland College in Champaign, IL.

Belt plays summer ball for Coaches Kristi and Dan Paulson. Premier Fastpitch 18U Gold were the 2015 ASA 18U A Illinois State Champions and rode to a strong 17th place finish at the 104 Team ASA/USA 18U A Nationals in Spartanburg, SC this past summer.

Her honors include: First Team All Little Illini Conference, Honorable Mention Decatur Herald and Review All Area Team as a junior; Second Team All Conference, Leadership Award as a sophomore; Decatur Herald and Review All-Area Team and Honorable Mention-Infield Little Illini All Conference as a freshman; Honorable Mention All Conference Volleyball as a sophomore.

Belt hit .380 for the Warriors with two home runs, eight doubles, 31 RBI and an OBP of .491

She is coached in high school by Mike Cutright and will graduate in 20165.

Parkland is a NCJAA Division II School, that has three NJCAA National Runners-up Places and has finished in the top 10 eight times. The most recent, a Third Place finish in 2012.

Belt, an honors student, is the daughter of Brenda and David Belt.
