Dan Paulson, a Mattoon High School Graduate knows what it is like to compete in athletics as well. In his time at MHS he was All Conference in the Big 12 in two sports; basketball and golf. Danny also moved on to Lake Land College where he played Basketball in the GRAC Conference.

While in high school at Mattoon, Dan became inspired by a high school teacher who eventually became a good friend. It was through Tom Epperson’s graphic arts classes that he quickly developed a fascination with the printing industry.

Dan received the opportunity to become a partner in Wave Graphics in Mattoon (Silk Screen Printing and Offset Printing Company) right out of high school in 1999. He is now the President and CEO of Wave Graphics.

In 2005-2007 he acquired three well established printing companies in Champaign, IL which are now merged under the name Premier Print Group.  Dan is also currently the President and CEO of Premier Print Group  as well. Premier Print Group and Wave Graphics together employ around 100 employees.

Dan finds time in the summers to coach softball with his wife Kristi Paulson. In the Summer of ‘10 and ‘11 he was the assistant coach of Midland Magic 18U. He also enjoys giving private basketball instruction in his free time.

Dan enjoys playing golf, softball, basketball, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with friends and family.  Die-hard Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan… And he also likes to cheer on the San Francisco Giants.

Dan participated in his first half marathon in honor of the Premier Fastpitch Team. The players ran in the 5K race as a team and enjoyed cheering him as he completed his first half marathon.

Dan’s late grandfather, Mike Witwicki, played in the Dodgers organization and was a coach to him for many years. Dan and his family puts on a scholarship golf outing every year in honor of his late Grandfather.

Dan is a positive motivator and always sends an inspirational quote to the girls at the start of everyday.
